Sperantsa means “hope.” That is what we are about. Sperantsa was founded with the mission to empower self help programs all over the world and eradicate poverty. We partner with self-help or fair trade companies which give their impoverished employees a fair wage so that they can buy all the necessities they need and help bring themselves out of poverty. We are excited to partner with our first distributor DeCe, which until now was only available in Europe. We are the only company in the USA (we are Seattle based) that sells DeCe hats, hand-crocheted by Roma mothers in Romania.

4 years ago I went on a missions trip to Romania that completely changed my life. My heart aches until my arrival back. I am in love with everything that makes Romania unique from the Gypsies, to the landscaping and the language- I am captivated by Romania and I saw the Lord in everyone I met.
